I am posting workouts to my youtube channel: MTGclimb
www.youtube.com/MTGclimb
These workouts are ten minutes or shorter in length to provide an easy way to get your workout in without it consuming a large part of your day. Most of the time, by the time you factor in, drive time, time to change your clothes, workout time, and all the conversations had with friends and acquaintances at the gym, a workout can eat up 2-3 hours of your day.
These workouts allow you to throw on a pair of shorts, grab weights or a ball, and go- In 15 minutes, you are back to your day.
While watching these videos, you might notice, I can't perform the exercise perfectly or it takes me a couple tries; I might get out of form, turn a toe in, my hips do not remain square the whole time, my squat does not stay as low as I would like.
THIS IS O-KAY.
The point: Keep the correct form in mind- square your hips, keep your knees loose, do not extend your knee past your ankle, suck in your abs (keep them tight throughout the exercises), roll your shoulders back (remember posture, always, if possible). These rules are important. They help to optimize the benefit of each exercise and help to prevent injury.
but
the most important part of these exercises is to BE ACTIVE.
We are not perfect and will not be perfect in all we do. But we can strive everytime to do the best we can, and our best will always get better. Don't let the fear of not being perfect keep you from being fit.
so have fun and stay active!
and let me know if there is a type of exercise you would like to see.

no excuses
What is annoying: "You are so lucky- You were born with good genes." Ever since people started to hear that heredity is linked to body type, they have been blaming their unhealthy lifestyle on their parents. Bone structure and muscle types (whether you have primarily fast or slow twitch muscle fibers) you are born with, BUT...
If you eat out often and make bad food choices - It is your fault.
If you do not exercise - It is your fault.
If you smoke too much, drink too much, party too hard - It is your fault.
If you do not get enough rest - It is your fault.
I do not like excuses people give to be out of shape and to live unhealthy lives.
The items above, you can control. You can make changes to live a healthy life. You will see changes.
But it takes time and effort.
Our society only reports the successes not the struggles. It is easy to want but hard to work. I recognize that. I want to make the work easy for you and that is why I am putting together these short videos for you to follow along with to get in shape. No excuses!! Let's take responsibility for our actions and choose to EXERCISE.

gifts and passions
What you will gather about me is that I love for people to follow their gifts and passions. And I will talk about it. We are all born with gifts. I believe we all serve a purpose here on earth and that there is room here on earth for everyone to prosper and succeed. I believe that when we utilize our gifts, we discover our use and joy.
Following the Maslow Hierarchy of Needs, I believe this starts at the basic level.
A healthy body is the first step to a life that thrives. This includes a nutrient-filled diet and a fit body.

the plan - the exercise plan
I am a NETA certified fitness instructor. Fitness has always been a pleasure for me. I think it is fun to run around and live an active life. I fill my day 110% feeling that if I complete 80-90% of it, I am still close to 100%. I have four kids and two dogs. I go to school and try to find time to build a business. I am 33.
I choose to be healthy and active.
While having my children (I had 4 babies in 5 years), I worked at a health club. It was easy to keep in shape while having easy access to all the equipment. Now my youngest is four. We are in a new phase. The running around phase. And it is hard to find the time to spend time in a gym. But I can tell that my skin is getting softer and gravity is taking a toll. I have not had a boob job or tummy tuck, liposuction, botox or restalin. I am trying to prolong my looks as long as possible without intervention.
But I know what to do- find the time to exercise. Exercise is about maintaining my looks, keeping my body healthy, and maintaining my strength and energy so that I can keep up with the life I have created.
So with inspiration from my children and my surroundings. I am going to workout ten minutes a day. My kids are in baseball, hockey, soccer, gymnastics and dance. So what they do, I will do (or try) so that I stay in shape and toned. Also I am inspired by my environment: dance and music. If I see or feel something, I will work that into my workouts as well. I will share these workouts with you. They will be posted to my facebook page: www.facebook.com/ClimbingMaslow
and also to my youtube channel: MTG climb or www.youtube.com/user/MTGclimb
You can workout with me from your desktop, laptop, ipad, ect...

clotheslines
Advantages of a clothes line
I bought a clothes line system at Lowe's for under $15.00. Now that I live in New Mexico where it is primarily hot and dry. I wanted to save the earth from greenhouse gas emissions. What was nice, of course, was the smell. Also, when I took the clothes down, they were each individually folded and in my hand, so putting them away did not seem like a chore. The clothes cannot pile up outside because I did not want them to get stepped on, by dogs or kids, or to get dirty. When it comes to household appliances, dryers use five to ten times more energy per hour than washing machines, and accounting for about 6% of the typical household energy consumption. It was not inconvenient. The laundry has to get done regardless. I dedicate a day a week to laundry, so this works for me. If you throw in one load a day, it might need to be when you wake up versus after dinner, before bed.

- Saves money[1][2]
- Zero greenhouse gas emissions per load[1][2][3] (2 kg of greenhouse gas emissions from the average mechanical clothes dryer per load)[3]
- Laundry smells "clothes-line fresh" without using chemicals[4][5][6][7]
- Less fabric wear and tear[2]
- Laundry items do not shrink (hot air from a mechanical clothes dryer may shrink items)
- No static cling
- Laundry items stay softer to the touch (mechanical clothes dryers tend to remove short, soft, fine fibers)
- Laundry items may be less wrinkled
- Avoids the potential of airborne lint and reduced air quality
- Eliminates the noise from a mechanical clothes dryer
- Does not vent to the outside and waste the large volume of conditioned (heated or cooled) indoor air that a mechanical dryer's blower does.
- For a simple line drying arrangement (rope and clothes pins) the repair and replacement costs are about $20.00 per 1,000 loads of laundry or 2 cents per load. For non-commercial mechanical clothes drying the repair and replacement costs (including labor expenses) are about $200.00 per 1,000 loads of laundry or 20 cents per load.
Disadvantages of using a clothes line
- Putting laundry on a line usually takes more time than putting it into a mechanical dryer (as laundry items have to be hung up and fixed one by one).
- Laundry items need to be hung indoors during rainy weather, or may get wet if the weather changes.
- Neighbours may find it aesthetically unpleasant[1]
- Risk of theft or vandalism of clothes
- Laundry items may be more stiff (at least initially) - with or without the fabric softener that can be used with a mechanical dryer, provided no treatment, such as adding a cup of vinegar to the washer's rinse water, is used.
- Wind, temperature, and humidity can vary the drying time. In particular, drying will typically take significantly longer than in a mechanical dryer (except in very warm and dry weather).
- Environmental contaminants such as soil, dust, smoke, automotive or industrial pollutants, pollen and animal droppings can come in contact with clothing.

Fixer Upper vs Turn Key & Neighborhood Stability
What are the benefits of a fixer upper vs a turn key property? First let me explain what each term means. A property described as a fixer upper is one that needs work. A turn key property is one that you love everything about, just turn the key and move right in.
A benefit of a fixer upper is that you will pay less for the property. Depending on the amount of work that needs to be completed or the amount of unfinished square feet compared to other properties in the neighborhood, the asking price will be less than that of a turn key property. Cosmetic upgrades are not included. But any major repairs, exterior, or foundation work, or having to bring the property up to code, will lower the price. You just need to ask yourself if you are willing to take on such a major project.
A benefit to a turn-key property is just that, it is move in ready. Minus some paint or maybe some new carpet or countertops, and maybe some yardwork, the property is perfect. If you are not looking at your home as an short term investment but as a home your family can enjoy without having the interference of contractors and laborers. Or you would rather not experience the inconvenience to rent for a short time while your house is contracted out, then a turn key home is for you.
I wanted to include information about whether neighborhood stability is important in this segment as well because this will also affect the asking/purchase price of a home. Houses are priced based on what other houses are selling for in the neighborhood, typically around the same or comparable 'per square foot' dollar amount. If there are a number of foreclosures or short sales in your neighborhood or in the neighborhood you are looking to buy into, the price amount is determined by what banks are negotiating the houses for and the ultimate closing purchase price. This is not based on comparables of finished square feet, number of rooms, or house amenities. It is simply negotiating the highest price in the shortest amount of time and this often leaves a neighborhood short changed for what owners can receive as their closing purchase price, even when the bank is out of the picture and the house is not in negotiation. Good for buyers if the buyer can find a house in a neighborhood that has been affected by foreclosures, lowering the asking price. But buyers will want a house that still has an owner that owns the house free and clear, or is still current on payments. Otherwise, the buying process/negotiation period can take 2-6 months longer than it should.
Another point to consider is there is no predetermined amount of time for the foreclosures/short sales to expire-- to not flood the market. If you do find a home in a neigborhood of foreclosures/short sales, there could be more hitting the market after your purchase. Because of supply and demand, your home value could further decline. There is no way of knowing when and if your neighborhood will be hit, how hard and for how long. A way a realtor could help you, is to look at purchase year and purchase price of the house you are interested in, as well the surrounding houses that are on the market or have recently closed. Also property tax records can tell you when houses were purchased. We know houses were most inflated during 2005-2007. Having that information could help you determine whether you think that neighborhood is at risk or not and if you are willing to take that chance.
